How to apply Iron-on DTF Transfers
Iron-on DTF transfers bond to fabric using heat-activated adhesive — the process covers positioning, pressing at the right temperature, and peeling the masking layer for a clean finish.
Our Iron-On DTF Transfers are printed using the advanced Direct to Film (DTF) method and feature a heat-activated adhesive for a strong, long-lasting bond to various fabrics. Each transfer comes with a masking layer on the front; once pressed with heat, this mask is peeled away, leaving a vibrant and durable print.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTION
1. Position Your Design
- Make sure the garment you’re applying the transfer to is smooth and wrinkle-free.
- Place the Iron-on DTF Transfer on the garment with the design facing up.
- Place heat-resistant parchment paper on top of your iron-on transfer before applying heat to prevent scorching and shifting (optional).
2. Apply Heat
You can use either household iron or heat press, set to 310°F (155°C) and press for 20-30 seconds with medium pressure.
NOTE: It’s a good idea if you have a sample to test first before proceeding with your Iron-on DTF Transfer.
3. Peel the Film
- Wait 15-20 seconds for your Iron-on Transfer to cool down, then peel the film (the masking layer) off.
- If any part of the design doesn’t stick to the garment, lay the film back down and apply heat again for a few extra seconds.
4. Final Press for Durability
Cover the design with parchment paper and press again for 15-20 seconds to enhance adhesion.
